Water Water Everywhere!

RaftingLast weekend Preston Scouts took part in the annual district camp based around all things watery. They camped at Bibby’s Farm near Chorley and took part in a number of water activities based on Lower Rivington Reservoir on the Sunday morning. Jenna, a Scout on the weekend said “The water activities were really fun, my favourite being the kayaking. It was great fun all joining together and running across the front of the boats”. Activities on offer included sailing, canoeing, kayaking, dragon boating and raft building.

On the Saturday of the camp everyone got to take part in a number of activities around Bibby’s Farm Campsite including climbing, mountain biking, the rope bridge challenge and a water slide. Of course the water slide was pretty much everyone’s favourite, I mean why wouldn’t you have fun whizzing down a sheet of polythene covered in soap and mud!

On the Saturday night of camp everyone brought out their singing voices and took part in a traditional scout campfire, a great social event that even the most wary can’t help but have fun. A brilliant and fun weekend was had by all attending and we are already looking forward to next year’s event.
