Scouting comes to Deepdale

newscoutsPreston Scouts are holding an information session on Sunday 20 November 2016, giving you the chance to learn all about the fun, challenge and adventure that Scouting offers – including plans for a new Scout group in Deepdale.

The meeting will take place between 10.30am-11.30am at Moor Park High School, on Moor Park Avenue, Preston, PR1 6DT.

The Scout Association is the largest youth organisation for males and females in the UK, led by volunteers, and there is room for your children too!

Preston Scouts plan to expand to enable more young people and adults to benefit from the challenge, fun and adventure that Scouting provides.

As an all-inclusive and value based Movement we welcome members from all cultures, faiths, beliefs and backgrounds, and all walks of life.

The new Scout Group in Deepdale, for boys and girls aged 6-14 years, will enable youngsters to make friends, try new activities and develop valuable skills such as teamwork, leadership, time management, initiative, planning, communication, self-movement, cultural awareness and commitment.

Scouts participate in a varied, exciting and action-packed programme to gain a series of challenges, badges and awards whilst having lots of fun.

Young people can explore the outdoors, gain independence, discover different countries and cultures and take part in a safe environment alongside gaining a series of challenges, badges and awards.

If you wish to attend the information session, or for more information about Scouting, contact the County Development Officer, Andy Marsden on 07827344135 or email andy.marsden@westlancsscouts.org.uk
