1st Deepdale Scout Group opens

A brand new Scout group opens in Deepdale

The new Scout Group in Deepdale, Preston, finally opened its doors in January.

The new group is for boys and girls aged between 6-14 and is enabling youngsters to make new friends, try different activities and develop valuable life skills such as teamwork, leadership, time management, initiative, planning, communication, self-movement, cultural awareness and commitment.

Deepdale Scouts Group is the latest addition to the 22 scouting teams that are already established in the Preston district.

The team regularly meet at Moor Park High School Sports Centre every Sunday between 11.30am-1pm to take part in the various activities and exciting opportunities that Scouting has to offer.

Bear Grylls, Chief Scout, encourages youngsters to join in with scouting groups. He said:

“Two things matter in life: following you dreams and looking after your friends. This is what I love about Scouting. It’s about doing great things. Loving and enjoying the great adventures and helping others to do the same.”

The Scouts are always welcoming new youngsters to get involved and join their team.  If you thought that joining Scouts might seem a little outdated, then you couldn’t be more wrong.

If you wish to get involved with the new group, or for more information about Scouting, contact the County Development Officer, Andy Marsden on 07827344136.
